The Quitterer Group has identified the Membrane Palmitoylated Protein 1 (MPP1) as a protein, which promotes heart failure in transgenic MPP1-mice and in different murine models with major cardiovascular risk factors. MPP1 could contribute to aging-induced cardiac degeneration because it is also up-regulated in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of aged humans.

The Quitterer Group has published their new research findings on BBLN, CAMK2D and Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) in the journal Nature Cardiovascular Research.
